WELCOME TO HERON BAY ACADEMY!

Heron Bay Academy will be a free public charter school that will be open to all residents of Henry and Spalding Counties, and will be located within Heron Bay Town Center at the intersection of Highway 155 and Heron Bay Boulevard, Locust Grove, GA. The Academy is working toward approval for expansion to add grades 1 thru 8, and expects to serve more than 650 students by 2015.

A strong component of our future school is the unwavering support and partnerships with the parents, local businesses, and area organizations. We look forward to providing a unique educational CHOICE for families.

UPDATE – Heron Bay Academy had been granted a School Charter by the Georgia Charter School Commission and was originally due to open for the 2011 – 2012 school year. However, since the State Charter School Commission was deemed null and void by the Georgia Supreme Court, the Heron Bay Academy School Board has decided to await further news from the State Legislator regarding an alternative to the local school districts granting a Charter before continuing with the school, therefore Heron Bay Academy will NOT open for the academic year 2013.
